About us
Founded in Viseu in 2005 by a group of young people, Adamastor connects people, communities and organisations through youth participation, learning and European cooperation.
We help young people discover different social and cultural contexts, develop skills and take an active role in their communities. International mobility and local action support one another: learning abroad can create new possibilities at home.
Inclusion, equal opportunities, intercultural dialogue, human rights and sustainability guide our work. We pay particular attention to young people with fewer opportunities and to the potential of rural communities.

Experience
Mobility and learning
Youth exchanges, mobility of youth workers, volunteering and non-formal and informal learning activities.
Participation and inclusion
Active citizenship, youth policy, gender equality, non-discrimination, intergenerational solidarity and the inclusion of migrants and minorities.
Training and employability
Youth guidance, skills development, student hosting and cooperation with vocational schools, universities and training centres.
Community and sustainability
Cultural, artistic, sporting and environmental activities, heritage, risk prevention and action against social exclusion.
Hosting in Viseu
Viseu Youth Hostel supports accommodation and learning experiences. The Fontelo Youth Centre connects information, activities and opportunities for young people in partnership with the Municipality of Viseu.

Team
Our team brings together experience in youth work, facilitation, non-formal education, training and European project management. Ongoing learning and collaboration support the preparation and delivery of activities.
Hugo Ribeiro, Adamastor’s founder, is the institutional representative and contact listed in the PIF. His background includes law, human resources management, coaching, youth mentoring and guidance, training of trainers and LEGO® SERIOUS PLAY® facilitation. The PIF also records SALTO-YOUTH training and experience in the Portuguese Erasmus+ National Agency’s pool of trainers.
